Part Time Job Details

This role is responsible for implementing and supporting all Human Resources generalist duties and business partnering with key onsite leaders. Based on the Maidstone manufacturing site, the role is responsible for approximately 135 employees and deals with a wide range of HR matters such as recruitment and selection, employee relations, succession planning and talent management and ad hoc project work.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Essential Responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership, direction and expertise for the full scope of HR functions including: employee relations, employee compensation, employee engagement, people management and organizational design and change
  • Leading and leveraging GE HR processes within the business (Performance Management, Salary Planning/Reward Management, Succession Planning and Talent Management), cross-functional communication and the transfer of learning and best practice sharing within the HR network
  • Coaching and counseling employees regarding HR policies and procedures relative to transfer, promotion, compensation, benefits and conditions of employment
  • Focusing on identification, selection, and retention of world-class talent to ensure a dynamic pipeline of talent – both internally and externally
  • Serving as an employee advocate, balancing fair labor standards, GE policy and practice and business needs
  • Partnering with client leadership, within the organization structure and HR counterparts to plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum engagement of employees and management teams
  • Proactively liaising with HR support functions to manage HR systems and maintaining integrity of employee and organizational data
  • Maintaining medical compliance on site, through liaison with third party Occupational Health provider, for scheduled medical surveillance and Recommend and arrange where appropriate Occupational Health referrals, including compilation of all associated documentation, liaising with employees and medical professionals where necessary.
  • Project coordination for site based and UK-wide activities
  • Support business growth through proactive thinking and partnering with the site management team and wider business contacts.
  • Provide pragmatic and consistent advice and guidance to managers on disciplinary, grievance, attendance and performance issues.
  • Raise issues proactively with managers, using a variety of internal and external sources of information to identify practical solutions to varied and sometimes complex HR issues and recommend appropriate action plans.
  • Carry out regular checks on performance and absence reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related discipline in which business knowledge and an understanding of human resource practices are gainedDemonstrable experience with HR Generalist responsibilities such as recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, employee development or performance managementOutstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced environment and effectively interface with high-level leadersProcess and detail oriented, including strong organizational and prioritization skillsSound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirementsStrong commitment to customer service; able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.
